Midnight Madness is an annual fundraiser basketball event. The money that is raised benefits a specific charity every year. This year funds will be donated to the Fisher House of Bethesda. Also, scholarships will be awarded to four former Glenwood students in the honor of Doug Parker, Eddie Ashwell, Dan Ecker and JoAnn Knight. In addition, we will have the Shave Your Head Booth with all money being donated to the Sam Forman’s Relay For Life team, a former Glenwood Student and cancer survivor. In addition to the head shaving station, we will also have a hair braiding station this year, to raise money for Sam Forman’s Relay for Life team. Midnight Madness will begin Friday, March 21st, right after school to midnight.

Students that choose to participate will sign up on teams with their friends. There must be at least 8, and no more than 10, players on a team. Each team will play in at least two basketball games. Each player is responsible for a $25.00 entry fee but may donate more if they choose to. Checks should be made out to Glenwood Middle School. If you are interested in playing but do not have a complete team by Feb 7th or want to be put on a team, see the Physical Education staff and they will help you find a team that needs you or help to complete your team. The last day to turn in all forms and money is February 7th. 

Game schedules will be posted the week of Midnight Madness. If players have conflicts with family commitments or other activities, fill in the times that the players will not be available. Every effort will be made to accommodate teams with scheduling conflicts.

All teams must have two chaperones that must be present as supervisors for their child’s team throughout the entire time their team is present. It would be beneficial to communicate between parents and chaperones about the departure time. The chaperones will receive an email, asking them to volunteer at a specific station (hallway monitor, pizza room, etc.) for an hour around the time that their team plays. If you are not a chaperone, you can still volunteer to help out at Midnight Madness - just email one of the P.E. teachers.

Captains of each team must turn in the following by February 7th:

1. Team Roster (ON PAPER) to Mrs. DeLisle or Mr. Dingman

2. Chaperones (2 per team - emails/phone#s) and team color choices (first come first serve) which is done by filling out the ONLINE CAPTAIN FORM

3. Checks or cash and a signed permission slip for every participant on their team to Mrs. DeLisle or Mr. Dingman along with team roster.
